Fun on the Fourth

Dan commented that I needed to get a new post up so that motivated me. Jim & Darlene came up on Thursday evening and Dan enjoyed having his dad attend his Ancients game. Darlene and I hung out on the patio up at the house and just visited and relaxed. On Friday evening, Warren & Ann and family joined us for barbecues and we spent most of the evening out in the screen porch. Tim & Deb & pugs, Jen & Eric & family and Jim & Shelly and family all arrived on Saturday and that was the super hot, muggy day-perfect weather to be in the lake. Despite the wind and choppy waters we were able to keep the tube going behind the jet-ski most of the day.

Saturday night brought a thunderstorm and clouds 'til it all cleared up around 2 on Sunday. Mom & Dad also came over on Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the chance to visit with many Smith family members. Mom brought her famous taco salad which always is a hit, especially with Andrew. Sunday night's fireworks were fantastic, the best we've ever seen around here and that was a nice end to the weekend. Tim & Deb left on Monday morning and that was the end of the 4th.

I have some other pictures to share once I get them downloaded. Thanks to everyone who came for all the great food you brought and all the help. We grilled ham for the first time and that was a big hit-thanks again Jim for suggesting that and preparing the meat. A special thanks to Warren who manned the grill for us all weekend too.
