Up North

Last week I headed up to Shari's for a few days. On the way, I snapped this photo on Big Sandy Lake just north of MacGregor. It's such a picturesque lake with the islands and there is a lot of Mn history associated with this lake. You can read about it if you stop at the handy rest stop.
Here's a close-up of one of the islands. Wouldn't it be fun to go out there and explore. It looks like someone lives out there so we may be arrested for trespassing.
We did some biking on their handy bike path, visited both Shari and Paul's 4th grade classrooms, spent a fun day shopping in Hibbing, a gorgeous & chilly back to school shopping day for the girls and Paul in Duluth and then lunch in Canal Park. Paul and Shari taught me how to make perfect grill pizza one evening as well. Before I came home on Friday, we ventured out that morning to go to the city wide rummage sales in Hibbing but didn't have nearly as much luck as last year. Still fun! Thanks again for a fun week, Shari & family!
