Before/After Kitchen

So, here it is.  I really like how it brightened up the space.  It does look rather plain to me now but I'll get used to it.  I'm not sure if I will keep the red at the end of the kitchen wall but for now it's fine.  Any ideas?  Do you think the soffits look strange white or is it okay?

The old look.

When I look at this picture I see so much stuff.  I think I need to go in the kitchen right now and take down/remove at least 10 items.

I will give you one week before you go up and paint something freehand on the soffits. you do that so well and I know you will come up with something. (maybe on our snowday tomorrow)!!!It really did brighten it up, but am already picking up that you are gonna need to put something up there. Also, thanks for the caringbridge website for Blake, I forwarded it on to both girls. Kris

OH AND BY THE WAY, IF ONE OF THE 10 ITEMS YOU DECIDE TO REMOVE IS THE 2 TIER BASKET IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT HAND SIDE, LET ME KNOW. kRIS

I agree with Kris. You'll be up on a ladder very soon painting a phrase or vines or some awesome idea up on that blank canvas. You are awesome! Deb

I think it makes your kitchen look larger.I don't know what to do with my soffits. I am thinking of painting them also. They have wallpaper on them now. Need to do something. It has been a long time since I painted my kitchen.I did it the same time I got new floor coverings. Did you have the day off? We got out at 10:30. Right now it is cold and windy.

You guys are so nice! Thanks for your comments. Eventually, I probably will do some curly vine thing up there. All I did today on our snow day was read for the most part. Just got the two hour late call for tomorrow! Maybe I could stay up late to paint!!

You may find a neat "thought" to paste on that blank canvas.

BTW your kitchen looks great!

I like it...simple. bright. clean. I like the idea of a saying rubbed on it! I just got a great one from fruitful vine creations...it says Come. Gather. Give thanks.
