Mansion and Guest Cottage #2

This mammoth cottage was built in 1967 using many salvaged materials including a beautiful staircase from a Masonic lodge in Omaha. It had a stately lodge feel about it. Inside, you would swear it was built in the early 1900's. Nancy, the inside reminded me of the house where Lynn's shower was held last spring except instead of an elk above the fireplace there was a moose. The kitchen and 4 season porch off of it was my favorite part of this house.
On the left you can see the porch that we all admired. It had wonderful views and the floor was a rough stone. This is a year round home. Unlike the first one which is uninsulated.
A lovely garden in front of the house.
Here is the guest cottage which is used by their daughter and her family all summer. It was very comfy and homey inside and you could tell that it was really lived in. Lots of fun vintage and knick-knacks (old waterskiis) and artwork. They had cats too, but they were locked in a room that said Please don't open!
Here's a picture of Annette, Becky and Jan who were my touring mates. We all love old houses, furnishings and gardening so we had a great time of course. They are posed in front of the guest cottage. We loved this one! This is still Lake Carlos.
